Workplace excitement and danger!

Okay, this is what qualifies as an exciting day here. Apparently, one of the overhead lines leaked some type of fluid. I was pretty sure that most overhead lines only consist of wire and insulator, but there the puddle is, and someone in the office even had it drip on his hand, causing a minor chemical burn. We were watching it out of the window, and the puddle was bubbling and sizzling. You could literally see the distortion lines of heat as they rose from the puddle, as it apparently worked away at dissolving the concrete. Someone called the fire department, and they showed up, emergency taping off the area, and then just kind of standing around, scratching their heads. I returned to my cubicle, and next time I looked out the window, the puddle was somewhat cleaned up, though there haven't been any utility crews out, so I'm not sure if it's going to continue leaking from whence it came.

When I leave to go to my car this evening, I'm going to be on the lookout for wounded alien xenomorphs back by the dumpsters.

That's it just above the utility box and to the left of the wooden pole.

Jotham's gift

Jotham's christmas gift arrived tonight, and it was a new center speaker for our home theater. Of course, as soon as the doorbell rang, i had to immediately hook it up. Drew helped.
The next thing to do was to test it out. Drew has a current obsession with Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape", so I fired it up, and he got down.

I tried to get video, and unfortunately, all I had was my phone. I'll have to dig up my video camera to get better video, he really knows how to move.

Singing for his supper

Sadly, his song is something from the doodlebops.

Tossin' trees

People are still throwing out christmas trees at the end of january?

A new haircut

Amy might have a future as a beautician if that whole legal consulting thing doesn't float her boat. Drew appreciated having someone familiar cutting his hair, and we all agreed that the end result was better than supercuts could do.

Tonight's accomplishment

Hey, playing devil went down to georgia isn't any easy task. I don't plan on beating hard anytime soon.

Realfield

So normally, I stick with the phone generated content, that's what the blog's all about. But every now and then I find something interesting enough that I'll break form for another type of post. Today's discovery was Realfield. Take the horribly unfunny Garfield cartoon, take out the inane Garfield banter, substitute in a real cat with real cat reactions, and you see how empty and hollow Jon Arbuckle's life really is. I'd seen the same concept done before by just removing Garfield's though balloons, but replacing Garfield with an actual cat makes the effect even more striking.

In every post, a cat's true emotions are shown, in a realistic and accurate portrayal of standard feline behavior. The only thing more authentic would be if the cat casually walked away from you after speaking to it. Or maybe clawing up your furniture.
For other takes on the least funny cat in the comic pages, check out the garfield randomizer or lasagnacat, which has been making the rounds recently.
