A common reaction to me.

Chillin on my legs

Kind of a big day, visitors and a trip to the park. She's now falling asleep on me.

Bakugan jammers

After 2 years of these sagging off his frame, they finally fit.

The perfect dive

Drew is learning to dive. Rita put a kickboard in front of his feet so he had to jump into the dive. Note the perfect form and clean entry into the water.

Party boy

Stolen from our friend's blog, I liked the picture. Drew is partying it up at Kyla's party.

Pooped after her debut

We went to a birthday party. Katie was a champ. She nursed at the beginning and towards the end. Slept for a solid two hours in the moby wrap and then tolerated being passed around a little. And then had a mini meltdown. Time for a nap.

Demon cat

You will obey the demon cat.

Sleepy

Always sleepy after eating.

A little yellow

She was actually enjoying having me hold her once she was full.  She's still getting over jaundice, you can see the color.

Better rested

Not well rested, just better than last night. Improvement is good.

Harmless

She looks it, but boy, between 1 am and 7 am, she's got a wickedly pitched wail.

Burping

It works for both of them.

Kitty pillow

The cat would have stayed there, but didn't like the crying.

Cockroach

She fell asleep on Amy's lap.

Just a little blue...er...yellow

Katie has just a touch of jaundice. The worst of it is actually the foot pricks for the blood test. She's got a UV pad that we put on her back and wrapped her up. Doesn't seem to bother her as long as I don't put her on her back onto it. Another blood test tomorrow and we may be done with this thing.

Seatbelt

Changing table

The baby likes to stay awake at night, so she was sleepy on the changing table this morning.

Bagel

Katie has a doctor's appointment this morning, preceded by a blood draw to check her for jaundice. We stopped for bagels after the lab. Drew chose his own - a chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese. Breakfast of big brothers, apparently.

Katherine Lily Stone

Our due date for the baby was April 2, but she wasn't having any of that. On the morning of April 7, the Doctors decided to induce Amy's pregnancy. It's a slow process, and we spent the first day and night in the delivery room, waiting for something to happen.

At around 10:30am on Friday after a long night, Amy's body was finally getting ready to push out a baby. We had a solid two hours of pushing, and while I got a little woozy at the beginning of this process, we focused on what we were there for - getting out a new little girl. It took 2 hours, and at 12:41, a baby was born.

This is Dr Gould, the Dr that helped deliver the baby. He had a real Doogie Howser thing going on - much younger than either of us. He knew what he was doing though, and he fixed Amy up after getting the baby out.
The baby was cleaned up by the nursing staff right away. Amy's mom came in and helped out. She was 7lb 1oz, 19".
Amy's mom couldn't get enough of the baby. Here she is holding her with Drew.
Drew couldn't wait to hold the baby, and he had his chance.
She loves being swaddled up. Here's our little baby burrito, sleeping in the plexiglass cradle at the hospital.
We named her Katherine Lily Stone a couple hours before leaving the hospital. It took a long time to pick a name that fit her, and this should do just fine.

We're finally home, and very happy to be here. Here's Katherine, sleeping on our bed at home after a good meal. She's covering her face up with her little gloved hands.

There will be many, many more pictures of her posted here soon.

Like father...

Mini-Rich likes his technology, too.

Daily reading

We didn't have any kid's books at the hospital,  so Drew did his daily reading on Amy's ipad.

Another tooth out

After much anguish, it was a painless extraction.
