Chili Cookoff

Rich and I each made a batch of chili for my company's annual charity event. Mine was the first atempt at a recommended recipe. Um...yeah. I voted for his. We didn't win, but it was fun.

Marble

These things aren't meant to fire marbles, but Drew had to try. I started by drilling into the marble, but that wasn't working, so I drilled through the side of the gun instead.

There, I fixed it

The pull cord kept coming out, so I replaced it.

Storage advances

I just picked up a new 2TB hard drive this week, but decided to check the capacity on an older hard drive since I have a 2-port SATA dock now. Check it out - 134 Petabytes. In case you were wondering, that's huge. If 2TB of data storage is worth $100, this drive would be worth almost $7Million.

New Kindle Cover

I needed something to tuck the Kindle in other than a quart sized ziploc bag. I scoured the internet and decided that buying was just too painfully expensive. So I made one out of random and only slightly coordinating fabric. I used some flannel for the lining and a fat quarter I had lying around for the exterior. The binding is likely my least favorite part of it. A light fabric seems a little out of place. Whatever. For less than an hour of effort, I have something to toss the Kindle in so I can throw it in a bag. I may add a little button latch of some kind.

The summer harvest

Yep, that's the whole thing.

A better bunny

Amy and Drew found 2 of these little guys hiding in the bushes right by the path we walk on. They were adorable, and I got very, very close to get this shot.
