Gridlock on the 5

On the way home. Look close to see tower bridge up.

A picture for Drew

His favorite thing.

Parking emergencx

There were emergency vehicles all over where i park, i thought someone had lit my car on fire. No such luck, everything was fine.

Shirt hat

This is what happens when amy helps him get dressed.

Ready for school

It's pants season again. :(

Dumb move

I take advantage of the train to cross the street because traffic has to stop when the guards drop. As i was getting ready to cross, some dude whips around the guards and crosses the tracks. If a train had been coming from the other direction, he'd be dead in front of me. Real bright.

Amy's lasagna

We marvelled at the layers.

Amy makes pasta

Today's flavor is enhanced with metal shavings. She cut them out, though.

A finished job

Drew's bubble-mowed lawn is the green groomed envy of the neighborhood.

The clipping pile

The neighbors cut down an entire forest and left it in front of our place. Drew surveys the pile.

Mowing the lawn...again

More bubble mower action.

Another bed

I really like this one.

Future bed?

Maybe. Cruising at Ikea.

This finger hurts

That one? Yes, this one right here!

Squirrel!

I'm pretty sure he was there when i took the picture. They're working overtime in the back yard to bury nuts in amy's planters.

Medicine

He fell and hurt his lip, so a little ice cream helps with the swelling.

On the train

The only bad past about riding the train is that you eventually have to get off.

Tracks

Waiting to ride the train.

Clouds

Drew says: oh, clouds. I like them. They're cute.

Ice cream!

Home made strawberry. The best.

Big coke

Really big.

What's that smell?

Yesterday, i noticed a strange smell from my backpack, but didn't think too much of it. Today, that smell wasn't just strange, it was straight evil. I looked down at the bottom and found a very rotten week old banana. I dropped it in my trash, and i feel bad for the janitor that will need to take care of that.

This movie is terrible

I heard snakes on a plane was bad, and now i can confirm it myself. I'm so glad this is only a netflix rental.

Do you have stairs in your house?

New shirt. It's like wearing some internet.

The scooter

This has been much more successful than our bike trips have been.

The way things should be

Whenever the opposing traffic is gridlocked, my drive home is quick. How nice of them to suffer for me.

Up on top

He rode on my shoulders at the farmers market, eating cheerios and the occasional fruit sample. While there, some creepy old guy asked if he could have a ride next, explaining that he was in his second childhood. Uh...no.

Candy!

Drew enjoys one of the only pieces of candy he'll get in 2007.

West sacramento

If the camera was better, you could see the money store all lit up and a rivercats game playing at Raley field.

A little help

The old disposal was covered in about an inch of rust and wouldn't come open. Dick came over from next door and helped beat it loose.

This barn has no animals!

Drew makes an observation about the utility sheds in front of home depot.

Today's enemy

Three weeks ago it died on us. Today, we do battle.

Crossing the guard

The guards were down and some dude was waving cars across. I thought we'd be smashed by a speeding train.

Catching up on sleep

It was a rough day, skipping his nap and all. He catches 40 winks on the way to berkeley.

Joe cool

He stole amy's Dilation glasses.

At the park

The trip didn't last long, unfortunately.

Eating pizza

We tried Giovanni's pizza tonight. Neither of us were very impressed, and we won't be coming back anytime soon. I'll stick to woodstocks, amy still prefers chicago fire.

Gray day

I thought it would clear up today, but it never did. It is hot though, so i guess that's something. It's probably dangerous to even breathe the air here today.

The red sun

Polluted gray skies make for interesting sunrises.

The piano

All set up! It's a great unit, i stayed up playing the classics (row row row your boat) half the night.

Trying on the tux

Ruth found him a tuxedo, which was waiting for us when we got home. He looked great in it. I think he'll outshine me at the wedding.

Dry shasta

The lake was super low. We seriously need some snow this year.

Drew is spoiled this year

His new keyboard is huge. Neither of us thought a full 88 key unit was quite this size. For reference, those are Shaq's size 23 flip flops i got off ebay.

Logan's roadhouse

We ate at one of those restaurants where you throw the shells on the floor when you eat peanuts. I followed suit by sending my plate and glass crashing to the floor when i was done eating. When i discovered that wasn't the expected behavior, i decided to tip over 15 percent.

My little buddy

Buddy as long as he's not in our back yard. Actually, now that i've declared war on the rats, i guess squirrels can rest easily...for now.

Give coke a chance

So, we found out that Diet Coke can go bad. I'd taken a couple for my lunches, and they just didn't taste good...at all. Amy had one for dinner a couple nights ago and was commenting on how bad it was, and we happened to look at the bottom of the can. It was 2 years expired, and we could taste every month. In a mission to determine the best methadone style diet beverage to use in order to get off sugar coke, Amy picked up cases of Coke Zero, Diet Coke, and Diet Coke: Splenda Edition. I'm doing my part to sample the options and provide my input. So far - tastes like coke. I think any of these are fine alternatives, provided they aren't consumed multiple years past their expiration date.

Back on the bike

He wore his helmet while riding, this is his daredevil look for the camera.
